Bernay Fine Art
Each of the artists participating in this exhibit have their own interpretation and inspiration of summertime; it is these diverse insights that make this show so unique. Janet Rickus, Joan Griswold and Huguette Martel introduce new romantic realism paintings of summer fruit, outdoor greenery, and animals. Katia Santibanez, Jean Claude Goldberg and Geoff Young utilize vibrant summer colors in each of their individual styles; Santibanez with her magnificent prints, Goldberg with his larger than life tropical paintings and Young with his geometrical pencil drawings. Barbara Takenaga, Sarah Walker, and Karin Schaefer bring us an abstract view of the summer months with dots, celestial bodies, webs, labyrinths and textured works. Sandy Litchfield dazzles us with “Rose Tinted Summer” while Marjorie Reid, Maggie Mailer and Linda Pochesci cover canvases with bursts of color. Warner Friedman and Michael Zelehoski present shaped works; Friedman’s painting, titled Summertime, delivers us to a Wisconsin lake, while Zelehoski’s work “Water Stress” is a fantastic turbulent ocean scene made with reconfigured wood. Nadine Robbins’ “Runnin on Dunkin” is a portrait of a women enjoying a treat and David Ricci’s photographs recollect our childhood summers with an amusement park and water rides. Lastly, Sandra Byers’ porcelain pieces are delicate, simple, elegant, and unique. They remind us of seashells on the beach.
The “Summertime” exhibit will be on display from June 29 through Aug. 10.
