Biker injured in crash with pickup on Route 8 in Pittsfield

PITTSFIELD — A Vermont man suffered serious injuries on Thursday afternoon when his motorcycle collided with a pickup on Route 8 (Cheshire Road), according to Pittsfield Police.

Cassius Bradford, of Stamford, was heading north about 1:29 p.m. when he collided with a Ford pickup that was trying to make a left turn out of Unistress, police said. The driver of the pickup, John Bailey, 56, of Cheshire, was not injured.

Bradford was transported by County Ambulance to Berkshire Medical Center with injuries to his arms and leg that appeared serious but not life threatening, police said.

The Pittsfield Fire Department, Lanesborough Police and state police also responded to the crash, which remains under investigation by the Pittsfield Police traffic unit.
