Bits & Bites: Chili, wine paring and senior citizens meals slated

MEAL FOR SENIORS SET TODAY

Roast pork will be on the menu for the senior community meal today at the First Baptist Church in Readsboro, Vt.

The Friendly Mission Circle is preparing the meal, which will include stuffing, gravy, green beans, rolls and pumpkin dessert. Lunch is served at noon, following bingo for any interested in playing at 10:30 a.m.

All are welcome to attend. Donations for the meal of $3.50 are suggested for seniors and $4.50 for others.

GEDNEY FARM WINE DINNER

Gedney Farm Sommelier Peter Miscikoski and his NewYork City wine pal Dan Lerner will co-host a wine pairing dinner Saturday, using interesting Old World wines paired with Executive Chef Ryan McLaughlin's menu.

Dinner is $85, which includes all food, wine, tax and gratuity. Seating is limited. Special hotel room rate at $149. For reservations, call 413-229-3131 or email peterm@gedneyfarm.com.

LIBRARY CHILI DINNER NIGHT

Roeliff Jansen Community Library will host a chili dinner night from 5 to 7 p.m. Saturday at the Copake Grange on Empire Road, Copake, N.Y.

Chili dinner night is an opportunity for the whole family to enjoy a hearty meal, and spend some quality time with friends and neighbors both new and old. The dinner will also feature live music, and the meal will include vegetarian options.

Tickets can be purchased at the door: $10 for adults and $5 for kids 5 to 12. Kids younger than 5 eat free.
