Boys Soccer Roundup: Pittsfield scores 5 unanswered to comeback at Wahconah
Trailing by two at halftime, the visiting Generals scored five unanswered goals in the second half en route to a 5-2 win over host Wahconah.
Carter Matthews had two goals and an assist, while Luke Peplowski had a goal and three assists for Pittsfield (7-1-1, 4-0-1 Berkshire North).
"They're strong up the middle," Wahconah coach John Kovacs said. "They kept coming at us and they wore us down in the second half."
Wahconah (5-6-1, 0-4-1) got goals from Kevin Huban and Easton Eberwein to take a 2-0 lead at halftime. Pittsfield responded with three goals in an eight-minute span to take the lead. Freddy Lopez's goal at 59:22 broke the tie.
"I think we ran out of gas a little bit We played hard and didn't give up," said Kovacs.

Hoosac Valley 3, Drury 2
ADAMS — Evan Norcross scored off a restart in the final three minutes of the first half as Hoosac Valley (3-5, 2-2 Berkshire South) hung on to beat Drury (4-6, 2-2) under the lights at Renfrew Field.
It was the second straight win for Hoosac, while Drury has dropped six of its last seven games.
Caleb Besaw's goal with 14 minutes left to play cut the Hoosac lead to one. The Blue Devils could not, however, get the tying tally.
Reece Racette assisted on both Drury goals.

HUNTINGTON — David Bautista-Cruz had a goal and an assist, while Patrick Silk made three saves for the clean sheet as Mount Everett (5-2) beat host Gateway.
Bautista-Cruz set up Jack Carpenter for what proved to be the game-winning goal at the 36-minute mark. Bautista-Cruz got an insurance goal at 71:30.
"[Everett had] much better intensity and effort all around in today's game," Everett coach Josh King wrote in an email. "Proud of how we came back from our last outing and focused on the task at hand."

SPRINGFIELD — Alan Beck scored two goals and two assists as the Hornets (2-7-1) were shut out.
"We had our opportunities and we just didn't capitalize, but with that said, I am proud of the way we played," McCann coach John Bresett wrote in an email. "We passed the ball better, talked more and played more like a team."
