Chef, publisher to discuss food, newspapers
SHEFFIELD — Chef and writer Dan Barber and Berkshire Eagle publisher Fred Rutberg will speak at "Flavor: A Brunch and Conversation," an event sponsored by Berkshire Grown, on Aug. 18 at a private farm in Sheffield.
The event will take place from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
The two men will discuss the importance of supporting the local economy, the vital role healthy food systems play in local economies, and the forces at work for growing a locally-focused newspaper.
Barber, whose family farm is located in Monterey, is the chef and co-owner of Blue Hill and Blue Hill at Stone Barns in Tarrytown, N.Y.
His opinions on food and agricultural policy have appeared in several publications including The New York Times.
