'Classroom of the Week' returns: Nominations sought for weekly recognition program

Back in January, The Berkshire Eagle piloted a recognition program, "Classroom of the Week," to showcase the unique work done by the county's teachers and students in pre-kindergarten through Grade 12.

We got some great feedback and nominations for local classrooms so we're excited to announce we'll be continuing the program this fall.

Based on submitted nominations, each week, we'll visit and highlight a classroom that's doing exceptional and creative work, whether it's a science or art project or group's unified effort to help every classmate succeed and close achievement gaps. Last year's recipients include everyone from elementary school kids who code to high school students who cooked up a storm for their community.

In addition to being featured on a full-color page in The Eagle, each classroom will receive a certificate and a gift card for class materials.

Anyone from the community can nominate a classroom to receive recognition.
