Congdon, Linn in hunt for Super Senior Division at New England Senior Amateur Golf Championship
BRETTON WOODS, N.H. — Wyantenuck Country Club's Andy Congdon is tied for fourth place and Berkshire Hills member Bob Linn, who recently captured the Massachusetts Super Senior Championship, is tied for seventh in the Super Senior Division (65-and-over) of the 36-hole New England Senior Amateur Championship.
Congdon rallied with two birdies over his final six holes to post a 2-over par round of 74, while Linn managed to finish with a 75 despite a double-bogey 7 on the 10th hole.
While the area duo are in the top 10, they will have plenty of work to do in order to walk home with the big trophy.
The duo is looking up at a strong leaderboard with 2019 Mass. Super Senior champion Donald Foberg leading the way with a 2-under 70. Tied for second place, one shot back in the Super Senior battle are Connecticut amateur legend Dave Szewczul and 2019 Mass. Amateur champion Jack Kearney.
Meanwhile, in the main event, three golfers are tied for the top spot after rounds of 60 — Mass. Golf Hall-of-Famer Frank Vana, Connecticut golfer Bob Murphy and Plymouth Country Club's Andrew Falcone
The final round will be played today.
