SPRINGFIELD — Kate Merrigan of North Adams and Sara Mitchell of Richmond are among 25 women from western Massachusetts municipalities who recently graduated from the Women's Fund of Western Massachusetts Leadership Institute for Political and Public Impact program. Both women completed the nine-month, non-partisan program that provides women with the tools, mentors, and confidence they need to become our region's community leaders and elected officials.Merrigan is the director of student and community development at Berkshire Arts & Technology Public Charter School in Adams;. Mitchell is a financial services representative with Northwestern Mutual.Information about LIPPI and applications for the program are now available online at www.mywomensfund.org/lippi/ The deadline to apply for the 2018-2019 session is June 29.
