Cross-country roundup: Monument Mountain, Mount Greylock boys teams each pick up pair of wins

WILLIAMSTOWN — The Monument Mountain and Mount Greylock boys cross-country teams each picked up a pair of wins at a meet at Mount Greylock on Tuesday, while for the girls Pittsfield picked up a pair of wins.

Jesse Seid was the top male finisher, running in 16 minutes, 37.5 seconds on his home course. Jacob Paris (Taconic), Josh Cheung (Greylock), Oliver Swabey (Greylock) and Peter LaRochelle (Monument) rounded out the top 5 runners on the day.

The Mounties defeated Lenox 17-46 and Taconic 19-42, while the Spartan boys beat Lenox 25-34 and Pittsfield 18-44.

Lenox's top runner was Max Adam in 6th, and Pittsfield's Anthony Hunt finished in 16th.

For the girls, Josie Smith was first in 19:24.94, followed by teammate Katherine Swann, Lenox's Ellen Huth, Greylock's Jackie Wells and Pittsfield's Cami Diehl, respectively.

The Pittsfield girls defeated Monument 15-48, and topped Taconic 17-44.

Taconic's top runner was Simiria Hanger in 21st, and Monument's Aurora Maldonado finished in 31st.

Hoosac Valley meet

CHESHIRE — The Lee boys and girls and Wahconah boys and girls defeated Mount Everett in dual meets, while the Mount Everett boys beat Hoosac Valley and Hoosac Valley girls defeated Mount Everett in a meet at Hoosac Valley.

The Lee boys won 25-34 over the Eagles while the girls won 16-45. The Wahconah boys won 23-36 and the girls won 15-50, and the Mount Everett boys bested Hoosac 18-41 while the Hurricane girls defeated Mount Everett 17-46.

P.J. Pharmer of Wahconah won the boys race in 18 minutes, 53.73 seconds, just edging out Mount Everett's Cole Duval (18:55.25). Mount Everett's Grayson Duval, Lee's Sebastian Dowd-Smith and Wahconah's Carlton Brooks rounded out the top five. Hoosac Valley's top finisher was Justin Levesque in 11th.

For the girls, Wahconah's Haley Crosier took first in 21:47.99, easily outpacing teammate Gabby Orlando (22:52.69). A third Warrior, Danni Orlando, was third, followed by Hoosac Valley's Natiya Cilli and Wahconah's Alexis Henderson. Lee's Brianna Kelly and Anna Martin were sixth and seventh, respectively, and Mount Everett's top runner was Carly Duval in 15th.
