Cummington: Old Creamery plans birthday events

The Old Creamery Co-op will hold a weekend-long "birthday party" on Saturday and Sunday, Nov. 4 and 5, to mark the occasion of five years as a co-op.

In November 2012, a few hundred citizens and supporters raised the funds needed to purchase The Old Creamery's business and real estate and begin operating under cooperative ownership. Today this community-owned business has 776 owners.

Events include live music, cider pressing, samplings from local and regional producers, wine tastings, a wine sale, no-cost raffles, and samples of Creamery-baked goods including a birthday cake on Sunday afternoon.

Additionally, co-op member-owners will enjoy a 10 percent savings on their shopping throughout the weekend.
