NORTH ADAMS — Berkshire District Attorney David F. Capeless has scheduled a press briefing Friday at 11 a.m. to discuss the case of a Clarksburg woman who has been missing since March 2.

Joanne M. "Jo" Ringer, 39, was supposed to begin her first shift driving for an Easthampton cab company on that date, but never arrived for her shift.

Her abandoned car was found in Easthampton four days later.

Her, husband, 42-year-old Charles M. "Chad" Reidy, was found dead of an apparent suicide in the garage of the couple's Clarksburg home on April 7.

The DA's office did not say whether Reidy was ever a suspect or a person of interest in Ringer's disappearance.

The statement released by the DA's office Thursday evening, announcing the briefing, did not divulge any details regarding the investigation.

The briefing will be held at the Northern Berkshire District Courthouse.
