THURSDAYHead out tonight to Race Brook Lodge, for a concert by Thor Jensen, 8 to 11 p.m. at Down County Social Club. Previewing the show, Race Brook says "Combining masterful technique and raw emotion, Thor Jensen's music is equally powerful and gritty yet evocative and thoughtful. His new EP, "I'll Be Alright" showcases this with a seamless blend of American roots music, rock and roll and a bit of blues." There's a $10 donation for the artists as entry. FRIDAY

Editor's Pick: Jen Durkin and The Business take the stage at the Garage at the Colonial Theatre, 111 South St., Pittsfield, 8 p.m. "Jen Durkin and The Business, is keeping up the funk, packed with tradition and new inspiration. Jen was one of the four featured artists in Respect: A Tribute to Aretha Franklin at The Colonial last November," says Berkshire Theatre Group. Tickets are $10.

"Funky groovin' soulful rock" band The Transmitters perform at the Egremont Barn, 8 to 11 p.m. According to the Barn, "A deep-groove guitar driven band specializing in infectiously danceable grooves, the Transmitters are fueled by their endless devotion to funk, soul, reggae, surf and spirited rock n roll." Tickets are $10. The Barn at the Egremont Village Inn, 17 Main St., South Egremont.

Dave Dersham provides the live music at Dream Away Lodge, 8 to 11 p.m., 1342 Country Road, Becket.

Cummington's Village Church's Friday Night Cafe kicks off the season with a double bill of The Glue and Brendan Leowolf, 7 p.m., 32 Main St., Cummington.

SATURDAY

Hop a train for an evening of music by Sam Talora and Ron Ramsay, leaving from Berkshire Scenic Railway's Adams Station, 3 Hoosac St., Adams at 7 p.m. Tickets are $25. Bring a picnic or your own drinks to enjoy along the way.

Join North Berkshire Community Dance for an evening of dance and music by fiddler Annika Amstutz and Peter Madsen of the Russet Trio on guitar, with calling by Quena Crain, 7:30 to 10:30 p.m. in the Williamstown Community Preschool, 777 Main St., Williamstown.

SUNDAY

Mazzeo's is hosting a wine and beer tasting to benefit Gladys Allen Brigham Community Center, with hors d'oeuvres and a silent auction, 5 to 7 p.m. Tickets are $50 a person, and can be purchased at brighamcenter.org. Mazzeo's is located at 1015 South St., Pittsfield.

Ventfort Hall welcomes back the Comical Mystery Tour ensemble for a murder mystery dinner theater, "Murder Is in the Stars," 5:30 p.m., doors open at 5 p.m., 104 Walker St., Lenox. Tickets are $40 and include dinner; a cash bar is available. For reservations, call 413-637-3206.
