Date night ideas: Live music, day-long holiday weekend celebration on tap

FRIDAY

Visit Shire Breu-Hous for a 21 and older dance party with DJ Justin Allen, 9:30 p.m. to 1:30 a.m., 63 Flansburg Ave., Dalton. There's a $5 suggested donation.

The Egremont Barn hosts Steal Your Peach band, 8 to 11 p.m. "Interweaving the classic jams of the Grateful Dead and the Allman Brothers, the Steal Your Peach Band is the newest crossover tribute on the scene. The all-star collective is a cross-section of the best of the Northeast jamband world, featuring top-notch musicianship and a refreshing twist on the jam scene's two favorite bands." Tickets are $15.

SATURDAY

Editor's Pick: Race Brook Lodge has a whole day of events planned. Join them for barbecue lunch and a pool party, beginning at noon, with music by House of Waters from 3 to 5 p.m. Tickets are $22. Later in the evening, catch Jill Peacock at Race Brook's Down County Social Club, 8 to 11 p.m., doors at 7 p.m. According to Race Brook, "Jill's music is groove based nu soul that has echoes of trip hop and classic UK soul." Head over to Mass MoCA for a dance party with music by Flying Lotus, 7:30 p.m. MoCA previews: "The experimental hip-hop and electronic artist, label-founder, filmmaker, Adult Swim mastermind, and all-around wizard of the LA underground beat scene Flying Lotus swoops into town as part of a limited tour, with a video wall, 3-D glasses for all, and a head full of crazy music just waiting to come out. Inspired by Madlib, Herbie Hancock, MF Doom, Miles Davis, J Dilla, and his great aunt and uncle — Alice and John Coltrane — he creates grooves and beats that will open, then blow, your mind." Berkshire Salsa is back at Tavern at the A for a Latin Dance party and Bachata lesson, 9 to 10 p.m., with music 10 p.m. to 1 a.m. Admission is $10 cash. 303 Crabe Ave., Pittsfield.
