Datenight ideas: Movies under the stars, big names in the barn this weekend

Catch Roomful of Teeth at Mass MoCA, 8 p.m. Head over early for dinner at Lickety Split Cafe, Gramercy Bistro, Bright Ideas Brewing, or A-oK Berkshire Barbeque. Tickets are $28, $44 preferred. Seating is general admission.

Mary Ann Palermo and First Take Band provides the music at 7:30 to 10:30 p.m., 10 Castle St., Great Barrington. Greg Hall and the Barnhouse Band perform at Dream Away Lodge, 8 to 10 p.m., 1342 County Road, Becket.

Take movie night off the couch and into the park, to a screening of "The Goonies," beginning around 8 p.m. in Colegrove Park, North Adams.

SATURDAY

Don't miss "I Loved Lucy," a play starring Sandra Dickinson as Lucille Ball and Lee Tannen as himself at Club Helsinki, 8:30 p.m., 405 Columbia St., Hudson, N.Y. Club Helsinki previews the show: "This is the side of Lucy we rarely got a chance to see — the private side — the way she really was and the way she chose to live her life toward the end of her life." The Egremont Barn has live music by The Transmitters, 8 to 11 p.m. According to the Barn, "With every note being played like the last note of the night, the Transmitters always deliver with high-energy entertainment full of sonic surprises. Editor's Pick: Hancock Shaker Village's Shaker Barn Music series welcomes Nellie McKay, 7:30 p.m., with opener Corey Laitman. Hancock Shaker Village says, "Nellie McKay isn't the type to offer an unthinking inducement to romance. Berkshire Salsa brings Latin Night to Tavern at the A, beginning with a salsa lesson with David Aloka and Isabel Burlingham at 9 p.m. and following up with salsa, bachata, merengue music by a DJ from 10 p.m. to 1 a.m. Bring cash for admission. Tavern at the A, 303 Crane Ave., Pittsfield.

Get out your dancing shoes on for the end-of-season dance party at Jacob's Pillow with DJ Justin Allen, 9 p.m., 358 George Carter Road, Becket. Tickets are $25, or are included with your ticket to the Saturday night shows by Boston Ballet or Urban Bush Women.
