Datenight Ideas: Wine and dine your date this weekend



Lyra players Ross Daly and Kelly Thoma visit Barnspace at Race Brook Lodge, with a quartet featuring Tev Stevig and Michael K. Harrist of Cesni Trio, for an evening of Greek Music beginning at 8 p.m., doors open at 7 p.m. On their website, Race Brook previews: "The modal music that Ross Daly and Kelly Thoma explore seems to exist outside time, weaving strands from so many parts of the world and combining past, present, and future together in gliding, mesmerizing melodies." Lovers of wine, grab your partner and head on over to Nejaime's wine seminar, "A Spring Journey through France," with Christian Dalbavie of Kobrand, 5:30 p.m. at Ventfort Hall, 104 Walker St., Lenox. The tour includes nine wines from the Loire Valley, Burgundy and Rhone. Tickets are $35 a person, and reservations can be made by calling 413-637-2221. Come early for a guided tour of Ventfort Hall at 4:30 p.m., $15.

Gedney Farm hosts a special Beer Dinner with Great Falls Brewing Company, featuring five courses by executive chef Ryan McLaughlin cooked al fresco on Gedney Farm's outdoor Argentine Grill and wood-fired oven, with a beer pairing with each course. Tickets are $65 per person, and reservations are required at 413-229-3131.

Editor's Pick: Uncorked Wine and Beer Lounge presents an Uncensored Comedy Showcase, featuring Pierre Vachon, Lauren Turczak, Kevin McTaggart and GW Foley, hosted by Jason Marby, beginning at 8 p.m., 137 North St., Pittsfield. This is a free, 21 and older event.

Of course, there's plenty of live music to enjoy this weekend. Don't miss Tal Wilkenfeld at Club Helsinki Hudson, 9 p.m., doors open at 6 p.m. Club Helsinki says, "'Love Remains,' Tal Wilkenfeld's debut solo album for BMG, is a testament to the celebrated bassist's unconventional journey. While a dedicated fan base may already know Tal for her work with Jeff Beck, Prince, The Allman Bros., Herbie Hancock and Mick Jagger, 'Love Remains' reveals a new side of Tal as a songwriter and singer with skills on par with her legend-in-the making musicianship." Tickets are $25 to $35, available at Club Helsinki is a 21 and older venue, located at 405 Columbia St., Hudson, N.Y. General admission does not guarantee a seat, seating in the club can be guaranteed only with a dinner reservation, call 518-828-4800.
