Director appointed for Oakley Center


WILLIAMSTOWN — Gage McWeeny, an English professor at Williams College, has been appointed to a three-year term as director of the college's Oakley Center for Humanities and Social Sciences. He succeeds Morris Professor of Rhetoric Jana Sawicki, who had served as director since 2015.As director, McWeeny will oversee the events and activities of the Oakley Center, which was established in 1985 to support research across the humanities and social sciences.McWeeny has been a member of the Williams faculty since 2005, and has previously served in leadership roles.
