PITTSFIELD — A portion of Holmes Road was closed to traffic for most of Saturday after a tree fell on power lines in the morning.

Firefighters responded to the downed tree and power lines around 8:30 a.m. and there was a small fire, but they didn't need to use hoses, according to Deputy Fire Chief Michael Noyes.

As of 3 p.m., the road was still closed to traffic while the power company repaired the lines, according to Sgt. Ryan Williams.

"Eversource is still up there dealing with it," Williams said.
