PITTSFIELD — Authorities have identified the man killed in an accident near Unistress on Monday night as Ernest Millette.

Millette, 73, of Pittsfield was pronounced dead at the scene, according to a news release from the Berkshire District Attorney's Office.

The accident occurred around 7 p.m. at 550 Cheshire Road. Millette was walking across the Unistress driveway when he was struck by a 2019 Kenilworth semitruck operated by Matthew Osak, 34, of Lee, according to Pittsfield Police.

Osak was driving north on Cheshire Road, when he turned left into Unistress, striking Millette. Pittsfield Police Sgt. Nicholas DeSantis and a Berkshire County Sheriff's Office deputy were first to arrive about 7:12 p.m. and performed CPR on the Millette, according to Pittsfield Police Lt. Jeffrey Bradford.

The semi parked near the victim bore the name "Dodge Construction." A call made to a number listed online for the Pittsfield company came back as out of service. This incident is being investigated by Pittsfield Officer Michael Silver.
