Elect hard-working Wickham to state Senate
Driving down Marble Street in Lee early Friday morning I see a man by himself working hard on a new playground in that neighborhood. It's already hot and humid. The man doing the digging is Tom Wickham. He has bags of cement in the back of his truck to anchor some of the playing equipment. He tells me he has a bit of time before his paying job so he came over to help out.
Wickham is a member of the Lee Selectboard and the Lee Town Planning Board. He is also running in the Democratic primary on Sept. 4 to become our state senator.
My wife and I believe that his long experience with real issues on the town level — roads and other infrastructure, commercial development and jobs creation, schools, taxes, public safety, and the responsible and profitable integration of the new marijuana industry in Lee — makes Tom eminently qualified to represent the Berkshires in Boston.
His sense of community and his hard work are exemplified by his work on that playground and his many, many hours devoted to town government next to his full-time job as a carpenter. This is why we support Wickham for state Senate. We urge you to do the same.
