Get out tonight and enjoy local bluegrass/folk rock band Folking Around with local songwriter James Hearne opening, 8 to 11 p.m., at Egremont Barn, 17 Main St., South Egremont. There's a $5 cover.

Editor's Pick: Enjoy a night of opera with "Ain't it a pretty night: excerpts from American opera," with Berkshire Opera Festival and Hancock Shaker Village, 7:30 to 9 p.m., 1843 West Housatonic St., Pittsfield. Hancock Shaker Village previews, "Berkshire Opera Festival pays homage to American opera by composers such as Leonard Bernstein, Aaron Copland, and Carlisle Floyd." Tickets are $25. Say goodbye to the workweek at The Mount, with the Afro-Semitic Experience performing at Music After Hours, 5 to 8 p.m., 2 Plunkett St., Lenox. On their website, the Afro-Semitic Experience introduces themselves: "With their unique instrumentation, solid grooves, and their ability to get an audience on its feet, The Afro-Semitic Experience is redefining the jazz concert.
