Great Barr. Farmer's Market is a worthy destination
Normally, during the rush of summer, I don't venture too far into South County but this past Saturday, I was so glad to have made the trip. The Great Barrington Farmer's Market was my destination and what I found was rich, colorful, and well worth the trip.
The market was filled with vendors selling the freshest of foods from vegetables and fruits to herbs, meats, cheeses, coffee, soups and more. There were crafts, jewelry, candles, pottery and music. Children and families were singing, dancing, eating and socializing. There were cafe tables set up all around the bustling market and it was clear to me that this was the place to be. The energy of young and old, locals and visitors was palpable.
If you haven't yet visited the Great Barrington Farmer's Market, you definitely should. Bridgette (Moore) Stone, who runs the show along with a terrific list of sponsors, should be given a huge thank you for creating such a wonderful venue. The market is so much more than buying local produce — it's a destination, filled with energy, with a great and diverse menu of offerings and should not be missed!
If you haven't had the chance to go, put it on your calendar. My family will be enjoying the bounty all week long. I can't wait to go back!
