Great Barrington: History program on Negro League Baseball

The Great Barrington Historical Society is presenting a special program in honor of Jackie Robinson's 100th birthday titled "Negro League Baseball in Massachusetts" featuring guest speaker Kevin Larkin at 7 p.m. Wednesday, April 17, at the Teague Senior Center, 917 South Main St.

Larkin, a former Great Barrington police officer, is the author of "Baseball in the Bay State." He will highlight the black athlete's struggle to gain a role and acceptance into America's pastime.

The program is free and open to the public. A brief annual meeting report will precede the program.
