A number of South County churches and organizations are sponsoring a "Lights for Liberty" candlelight vigil from 8:30 to 9 p.m. Friday, July 12, on the lawn at First Congregational Church, 251 Main St.

The vigil is being held to protest the inhumane treatment of migrants and refugees at U.S. detention facilities and the cruelty of separating children from their families.
