Hike highlight: Harmon Hill Trail a steep trek with great views

What to expect: A tough workout to start, followed by a beautiful walk through dense forest, serene ferny glades and a lookout to Mount Anthony and the Bennington Monument. Follow the white blazes up almost a mile of steep rock staircases that switchback up to the ridge line. There's no underestimating this first push; first timers and inexperienced hikers, add extra time to your trip plan. This 2-and-a-half-hour hike can take much, much longer. The rest of this 3.3-mile hike is fairly flat and easy, though equal caution should be taken on the steep descent back down. At the top enjoy views to the west, clumps of beautiful wildflowers and a sea of berry bushes.
