Bard College professor and critically-acclaimed writer Joseph Luzzi will be hosting a free Zoom discussion about the power of literature in times of crisis from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 5, for the Roeliff Jansen Community Library.

The program will examine how the written works of some of the world's most beloved writers - Dante, Boccaccio, Bronte, Camus, Orwell, Atwood, and more - have inspired readers to persevere during some of the most challenging times, and how we can do the same today.

Luzzi is an award-winning author whose most recent books include "My Two Italies" and "In a Dark Wood."
