Hot deals for skiers after dark
Local skiers know the best time to hit the slopes is after dark when the lights are glowing and the lift ticket prices are cheaper.
Here is a roundup of area ski resorts and special night pricing offered during weekdays or non-holiday times. After a few runs, don't forget to check out the local entertainment and grab a refreshment at one of the lodges at the base of each resort that offer apres-ski fun.
Berkshire East Mountain Resort
66 Thunder Mountain Road, Charlemont
Night skiing deals: Wednesday and Friday nights, lift tickets are $30; 5 to 9 Thursday nights tickets are $19.
Special upcoming events: On Friday, Jan. 31, from 4 to 9 p.m., Berkshire East will host a Non-Profit Ski Night. Take advantage of a discount while giving back to The Food Bank of Western Mass. Skiers who present a barcode they can print out at foodbankwma.org/berkshire-east-non-profit-ski-night will receive $5 off their night lift ticket, and Berkshire East will match their donation.
On Saturday, Feb.1, enjoy live music by Lake Side Drive from 7:30 to 11 p.m. at the resort's Crazy Horse Bar and Grill.
Bousquet Ski Area
101 Dan Fox Drive, Pittsfield
Night skiing deals: Thursday nights, from 3 to 9, ski for $10. Regular night tickets, 3 to 9 p.m. $20.
Special upcoming events: Try out their Sunday Saver events and ski from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. for $35
Catamount Mountain Ski Resort
Route 23, South Egremont
Night skiing deals: Wednesday, Friday and Saturday, adult night tickets are $30
Special upcoming events: Family Night at Catamount will be held Saturday, Feb. 1. Lift tickets, rentals and lessons are all discounted. Lift tickets will be sold 2 for $55, 3 for $65, 4 for $75, 5 for $85. Rentals will be $20.
Jiminy Peak Mountain Resort
37 Corey Road, Hancock
Night skiing deals: To celebrate the arrival of 2020, the ski resort is offering $20 Twilight tickets on selected nights in February and March. In February, the deal will be on Tuesdays Feb. 4, 11 and 25.
Special upcoming events: DJ Dustin' will entertain the lift line, the patio poachers and just about anyone who strolls through Jiminy Peak on Saturday, Feb. 1, from 12:30 to 3:30 p.m.
380 State Road, Great Barrington
Night skiing deals: Monday through Friday, during non-holiday time periods, one-day lift tickets are $25 for adults, so you don't have to be a night skier to take advantage of this deal. If you're looking to go tubing, Friday nights are $15 for a three-hour pass.
Special upcoming events: Start February off right with a "Fe-BREW-ary with Barrington Brewery" event from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 1, at the upper lodge.
