PITTSFIELD — J.H. Maxymillian Inc. of Pittsfield in combination with Williams College and Stephen Stimson Architects of Cambridge has been selected by Engineering News Record New England to receive the organization's best regional project award in the landscape/urban development category. That project is the demolition of Sawyer Library and the construction of the New Quad at Williams College. The $12 million, multi-phased renovation project took place in two phases, beginning in the summer of 2015. It created a new green space/academic quad in the heart of the Williams College campusThe awards presentation will take place Dec. 12 in Boston. The winners in all 15 categories will be profiled in ENR New England's print issue of Dec. 25. Five industry judges discussed 29 projects throughout the six state New England region.
