Candidate and top preliminary vote getter Melissa Mazzeo and incumbent Linda Tyer will advance to November's general election.

Mazzeo landed 2,860 votes, while Tyer earned 2,571. Other candidates Scott Graves and Karen Kalinowsky received 343 and 281 votes respectively.  With the four-candidate race for mayor now halved, Mazzeo and Tyer will advance as the two top vote getters to the general election Nov. 5.

In Ward 5, Pittsfield City Council candidates Patrick Kavey and Jonathan Lothrop will move on to the Nov. 5 election, as well.

Tallies were 409 for Kavey, 356 for Lothrop and 103 for Eugene Maselli.

Elsewhere in the city, candidates Dina Guiel Lampiasi and Joseph Nichols have taken Ward 6 in Pittsfield in the race for city councilor.

As the top two vote-getters, they, too, will advance to the general election Nov. 5.

The tallies are 533 for Lampiasi, 215 for Nichols, 93 for Edward Carmel, and 54 for Craig Gaetani.
