LANESBOROUGH — If people can't get out to enjoy a parade, bring the parade to them.

On Saturday, the Lanesborough Volunteer Fire Department will be conducting a "wave parade" throughout the town to let people know "that we are here for them during this time of crisis," said department treasurer and spokesman P.J. Pannesco.

And, considering that the next day is Easter Sunday, Pannesco said the department managed to get a "very special" visitor (who might or might not have floppy ears) to join the department for the parade.

The parade will kick off at 10 a.m. from the firehouse on South Main Street and will head south on Route 7.

The parade route will continue on to Bull Hill Road and proceed through town until reaching Miner Road.

The full parade route is listed on the department's Facebook page, at

According to a post on that page, if a street isn't listed on the route, contact the department at 413-443-2321 and arrangements will be made to add it.
