League of Women Voters Central Berkshire Chapter reforms

PITTSFIELD — The League of Women Voters of Massachusetts has reformed its Berkshire Chapter, known as the League of Women Voters Central Berkshire Chapter, or LWVCBC. The changes went into effect May 4.

The LWVCBC adopted the non-partisan policy that was written specifically for their chapter, and adopted the bylaws as written.

Catherine Penna was elected president; Sonam Choedon, voter services chair, and Pamela Knisley, secretary, all for one year terms. The chapter's first incentives will be in two areas; membership/outreach and voter services/local elections.

The LWCCBC was originally founded as a chapter for Pittsfield in the early 1960s and later included all of central Berkshire County. The original chapter disbanded in 2001.
