Lenox: Local woman marks 100 years

LENOX — Jeannette Maura Kearns, a resident of Devonshire Estates in Lenox, celebrated her 100th birthday on Saturday, April 14.

Mrs. Kearns was born April 14, 1918, in New York City, and moved to Long Branch, N.J., as a baby with her family. She lived her adult life in northern New Jersey where she taught kindergarten for 30 years.

She moved to Devonshire Estates in May 2015 to be closer to her son John, a local physician; her daughter-in-law, Kathryn; and two grandchildren, John and Jacqueline. Two brothers and her husband, Walter, are deceased.
