To the editor:

Lately, I've had the opportunity to explore the Northampton area. One day, I drove by the local airport there, and noticed an array of hangars.

Reasonably unobtrusive, I wondered if they might be similar to the hangars proposed by Berkshire Aviation for the Walter J. Koladza Airport here in Great Barrington. A quick phone call with the friendly staff there confirmed that yes, Northampton's hangars are very similar, if not identical to those proposed for Great Barrington (although the Northampton hangars lack the forested backdrop that the ones in Great Barrington would have).

I would encourage anyone interested in the impact of the proposed hangars for the Great Barrington airport to make a trip to Northampton and to see for themselves the scope of these buildings. I, for one, think that they'd be a great addition to the well-run operation that is Berkshire Aviation.

Peter Barrett,

North Egremont
