Letter: Another wonderful cultural summer
To the editor:
My wife and I just celebrated our 30th year visiting the Berkshires and we were able to enjoy many of the fine artistic venues and performances. We visited Mass MoCA and the Clark, attended two Tanglewood concerts, and saw the Barrington Stage production of "Fall Springs," as well as the Shakespeare and Company performances of "Merry Wives of Windsor" and "Taming of the Shrew."
Our last opportunity to see theater was Sunday evening in West Stockbridge and we loved the production of "Particularly in the Heartland." It is something we can recommend to everyone! We know that the Berkshire art community supports a wide variety of innovative and thought-provoking works. The enthusiasm, energy and craft of this young ensemble was a pleasure to behold! It is always difficult to be in the artistic avant-garde, but I think this is a perfect example. I hope that anyone who has the time and inclination to view this sophisticated performance takes the opportunity to experience this excellent evening of entertainment.
We read The Berkshire Eagle whenever we visit and know that your reporting and reviews are a reliable way to know what is happening in the artistic community. Thanks to everyone who helps make the Berkshires one of the pre-eminent destinations in America for cultural excellence, Keep up the good work.
David and Marla Burchell,
