Letter: Chris Connell offers hard work, good ideas
I am writing this letter to express my support for Chris Connell who is seeking re-election in Ward 4. We need people in local office that are dedicated to improving the financial situation for the city of Pittsfield. Chris has a proven track record of bringing hard work, honesty and intelligent business ideas to our city.
Chris was the first friend I made when I moved to the Berkshires, and he went out of his way to show me all of the great resources our town offers. When I learned that Chris was running for City Council 6 1/2 years ago, I became interested in local politics. I have repeatedly been impressed that Chris works hard to listen to people and get things done. He is a lot more action than talk, so when a ramp needed to be built at the busy intersection on the eastern corner of Elm Street and Fourth Street to provide better safety and access for people with disabilities, Chris worked tirelessly to get the funding for the project.
I have noticed that Chris has collaborated with other councilors to get things done to improve the quality of lives for those of us in Pittsfield. He is always working on projects that will bring needed dollars and jobs back to Pittsfield.
I have made so many friends in Pittsfield over these last 10 years and I truly love this town. With all of the companies that have gone out of business or left the region, I worry about its financial well-being. It is not because Chris is my friend that I pray that he wins this election; it is because I truly believe that keeping Chris on the City Council is very important to help Pittsfield maintain our infrastructure and create more business opportunities and jobs in the region.
