Letter: Dalton Lions circus a fundraising success

To the editor:

The Dalton Lions Club's 25th circus fundraiser was a very well attended event with Sunday's 2 p.m. show a packed house. The Lions members received rave reviews from attendees as they exited the tent after each show. It was refreshing to see the young children and their parents enjoying the 90-minute circus presentation by the Zerbini Family Circus. The Zerbini family takes great pride in performing with all performers members of the family.

The Dalton Lions Club will have the Zerbini Family Circus back next year in July. It was another good fundraiser with bills being paid and more money coming in for the Dalton Lions Charities Children & Families Circus Program.

The Dalton Lions raffle program had 29 gift certificates going out to the winners. All have been notified. This program will continue next year as well.

Next up is the David Grunow Memorial Golf Tournament. It will be held at the Bass Ridge Golf Club, 151 Plunkett Ave. in Hinsdale. It is a four-member team with a shotgun start at 8 a.m. on Aug. 11. Cost is $85 per person, which includes greens fee, cart, coffee and doughnuts and an after-tournament steak dinner. There will be raffle prizes and close-to-pin and hole-in-one contest. Contact Robert Bishop to sign up at 684-0252.

The Dalton Lions Club is seeking new members. We are off for the summer. We will meet again in September at the Dalton Restaurant. Call Janet at 684-2213 for information.
