Letter: Die already cast on art sale appeal

To the editor:

Blessing on the next Quixote attempt to intercept the final art sale at Sotheby's. David slew Goliath, but nobody will win this one but the museum. It's business as usual. And it's final curtains for the art.

I know this because history repeats. The same players are in place, and Maura Healey will put her heavy-handed thumb here too. An ambitious politician whose decision to green light the sale just will not get challenged.

The attorney general has already demonstrated her knowledge of the value of community-owned art: A cocktail dress, a cocktail in her hand, accompanied by all the pro-sale politicians of Pittsfield at a museum event. It's another slam dunk.
