Letter: Enough pot shops in South Berkshire

Posted

To the editor:

Enough. While I appreciate an entrepreneurial spirit I am concerned and amazed at the number of potential pot shop locations seeking approval in Great Barrington.

My concerns around traffic backups, the need for added policing, parking, etc is that they will impair quality of life in this area. And this latest shop where Wild Birds is should not be approved.

Did anyone consider the pot shop going up just south of this location in Sheffield? A stone's throw away. Called The Pass, it's already in the process of gearing up with buildings for retail, medical, growth and process. Talk to each other. This is bordering on insanity.

I am all for the legalization and recreational sale in South County, but not at the sacrifice of the calm, genteel life we enjoy here.

Sheffield
