To the editor:

Kudos to the Four Freedoms Coalition, Kate Maguire and the Colonial Theatre for an inspiring, timely and well-organized march and rally on Sunday afternoon in Pittsfield.

At a time of endless unsettling news, the event made me feel lucky and grateful to be part of this Berkshire community, optimistic about what we can achieve by supporting each other to demand change, and proud of our county. And a huge thank you to the speakers and performers — you gave us a gift with your inspiring calls to action and performances. How impressive that the elected officials in attendance stayed for the entire three-hour event, even though most did not have a speaking role. Thank you!

Jenn Smith, your plea on behalf of freedom of speech and freedom of the press was superb. We are lucky to have you at The Eagle. Can The Eagle print your address for those who were not able to be there?

Barbara Palmer,
