Letter: Kudos for Muddy Brook Elementary

To the editor:

A number of years ago, we had the good fortune to be introduced to Muddy Brook Elementary School, when we volunteered to tutor as part of a project when the Jewish Women's Foundation began collaborating with the Project Connection Summer Program. What an opportunity this was; educational for us as well as for the students!

We were so impressed by the dedicated staff and taken by our kids that we volunteered to help out in the classroom weekly during the school year. We have been able to experience this wonderful school, with its quality of education, observe the creativity and warmth of its staff, and delight in the development of its students. Clearly the dedication of the teachers, principal, custodians and all staff have succeeded in fostering a supportive, caring environment for the students. The children are encouraged to be curious, creative, considerate, and also to enjoy themselves while learning. It is our reward/privilege to watch these children grow, in a caring environment that teaches them the fundamentals and improves their understanding of the world.

During these challenging times, Muddy Brook, under the direction of an excellent principal and hardworking staff, is succeeding in being a special place and a credit to our community.
