Letter: Literacy volunteers thank many supporters

To the editor:

Literacy Volunteers of Berkshire County (LVBC) extends a heartfelt "Thank you!" to the staff of the Berkshire Athenaeum and its director, Alex Reczkowski, as well as to the generous folks at Berkshire Gas, for hosting the eighth annual Berkshire Gas Links for Literacy Mini Golf Classic on March 30. This fun family event is an important fundraiser for Literacy Volunteers of Berkshire County, whose mission is to provide critical literacy skills to adult learners here in the Berkshire community.

We offer our thanks to these businesses and individual sponsors who helped make mini-golf a success, including DiMartino Security, Pittsfield Cooperative Bank, Natalya Yantovsky DDS, Crescent Creamery, Adams Community Bank, Highland Restaurant, Courtney, Lee & Hamel, Friends of the Berkshire Athenaeum, Kathi & Mark Clatterbaugh, MyCom Federal Credit Union, Barbara Mahony, Panera Bread, Pittsfield Veterinary Hospital, CompuWorks, Pittsfield Pipers, Inc., Lee Bank, Hill Engineers, Architects, Planners, Inc., Mary Jane Burke, Centerline Construction, and Edwards, Krol & Nazarov Family Dentistry. We also appreciate the support of families and individual golfers who happily played mini golf throughout the library.

Please, join us again next year for mini-golf.

Karen Wallace,

The writer is executive director of Literacy Volunteers of Berkshire County. The letter was signed by the organization's board members: Shawn Hartley Hancock, Richard LeBlanc, Barbara Mahony, Alex Reczkowski and Susan Staskin.
