Letter: Museum is priority, not the pictures

To the editor:

As a long-time member of and donor to the Berkshire Museum, I have read the torrent of letters concerning its future. The truth is that if the museum can't sell the pictures, it will close. This is a fact.

Does anyone want the museum to stand empty with a big "For Sale" sign on it? I hope the answer is "no," and that people will calm down and realize the consequences of this disagreement. We can live without the pictures. Can we live without the museum?

Jane Braus,
