Letter: No old boy network, hoaxes in Stockbridge

To the editor:

In normal times, I would not respond to a letter like the "good old boys network" letter in Monday's Eagle; but these are not normal times, and it is important to push back against careless and strident words.

When voters elect people to the positions of selectman and moderator, they do so with the understanding that those elected people will make appointments in accordance with their own honest judgement as to which people will best serve the town. Just as past select boards have, this is exactly what our board has done.

There is no "good old boys network" in Stockbridge, there is no hoax, and Stockbridge is not becoming a gated community. And, by the way, the Mueller investigation is not a witch hunt.
