Letter: Officials failed residents near potential tower

To the editor:

After reading The Oct. 1 letter titled `Neighbors fear potential eyesore" I am outraged to think that a project as large as the construction of a cell tower could be conducted without informing the residents who will be directly affected by this project. Who, in the city of Pittsfield government, allows this to occur? Why are our elected officials not protecting their constituents? Why do they disregard the city's residents' concerns regarding property values, potential health risks and quality and enjoyment of life, not to mention the harm inflicted on the natural beauty of our city?

Please, representatives, stand up for your constituents and for our city!

Bonnie Kelly,
