Letter: Plastic bag ban poses threat to trees

Posted
To the editor:

I have been told the reasons for the plastic bag ban and why it's spreading like a virus across Berkshire County. But I think a lot of people are overlooking the other side of it.

No plastic bags means more cutting down of trees to make paper bags. Before you know it, there won't be any birds around here anymore because they won't have any trees to live in. People won't have any shade from the hot sun in the summer. Berkshire County will be a prairie! Is that the goal here?

If so, I feel very sorry for the people who voted on this ban.

Brian Isaac,

Adams
