Letter: Price Chopper cruelly walks away from Lee

To the editor:

First, Price Chopper took away the beer and wine license from the Lee store for a new, larger, improved city store. The company never took any of those profits to update or improve our store.

The Lee store has been a lifeline for the elderly, non-drivers and many others. Also, its prices beat the only other similar store in town most of the time.

I guess bottom line profits count more than the loyalty of their customers and long-time workers. I don't think the older generation who were in charge would have treated our town this way.

Thank all of you loyal workers for your kindness and help!

Ruth Heath,
