Letter: Rockwell gift dishonored

To the editor:

I must say that I, as well as many others, am very upset with the Berkshire Museum for deciding to sell off a gift that Norman Rockwell made to the museum. It's basically a "slap in his face."

Many years ago, Norman Rockwell gave one of his paintings to my partner, Larry Vaber. We enjoyed the painting for over 40 years. In order to have more people enjoy this marvelous painting, it was donated to the Rockwell Museum for its general collection.

I am sure Mr. Rockwell must be turning over in his grave to think his gift will be so dishonored.

West Stockbridge
