Letter: Spectrum doesn't care, but WCVB will be missed

To the editor:

I was dismayed to read that Spectrum will cancel WCVB. While it is true that network programs can be seen on WTEN, the Boston station's "Chronicle" and its investigation team that uncovered the State Police overtime scandal will be sorely missed. "Chronicle" has had programs devoted to Sheffield, Pittsfield and the North Adams area, in addition to subjects of general interest that I watch daily.

I use the Spectrum app on my smart TV. The WTEN signal is so bad that the picture bobbles between hi-def and low-def and it's almost unwatchable. Thus, there will be little access to ABC in my place. No other channel that I watch has this problem, yet the folks at the Pittsfield office throw up their hands when I've requested a fix.

I wish our state representatives good luck in getting this monopoly to get a sense of responsibility for their customer's satisfaction. Spectrum's apparent intent is only to increase profits while its customers lose content.

Michael Hutchinson,
