Letter: Tanglewood fireworks are disruptively loud

To the editor:

We all love the visuals of fireworks, but why must it sound like a war zone, even miles away, when Tanglewood has its displays? What is the point of the enormously loud booms which shake us, and our pets, and, to my mind most importantly in this area, wildlife, to the core? Isn't it possible to eliminate the extreme noise?

I urge Tanglewood to be more aware of the surrounding natural world here in the Berkshires and to take into account the effect that these displays have, due most particularly to excessive noise.
