Letter: Unpaid furloughs for Trump and family

To the editor:

I feel compelled to write a letter about the latest nonsensical act of our egotistical president, the current federal shutdown.

It would be easy to compile a list of weird adjectives to describe Trump's compulsive, self-serving behavior. The fact that Trump's shutdown caused more than 700,000 federal workers to be furloughed without pay is another example of the absence of the little or no compassion for those affected by his actions, at least until election time.

My suggestion is to put Trump and his many relatives connected to this administration on a "no pay" plan until he ends his shutdown.

Peter Ellsworth,
