Letter: Wadsworth a valuable resource for Lee

Posted

To the editor:

I am submitting this letter to endorse Andrea Wadsworth as selectman for the town of Lee. I believe she will do an exceptional job for the citizens and town.

She is a MA DESE licensed business administrator for Supervisory Union 29 (Lee and Tyringham). She also holds an MA DESE auperintendent's license and also has a Master of Business Administration, a Masters of Public Policy, a MA certified procurement officer and a graduate certificate in Public Management.

It has been my pleasure to know Andrea for the past 10years and in that time she has shown me how hard she works for those she represents. She has been in her present position for the past three years at Lee Middle and High School as the business administrator and the previous five years at Berkshire Hills Regional School District. In between BHRSD and Lee was her one year stint in Lenox as their treasurer. She carries a heavy load as the person responsible for the day to day expenses that make the school run efficiently and within budget.

Andrea also represents the school on the board of the Lee School Committee as chair, with a legal opinion from the attorney general's office of state ethics, again showing her dedication to the welfare of the students of our town and those who choose to come to us through school choice. She is the type of person who will not let others bully her or sway her if she knows she has her facts in order. I had some questions a few years ago as the newest chairman of Union 29. I wasn't sure how to proceed on a subject and reverted to Andrea's expertise. She advised me to contact a person who would be able to help me, they did, and I learned a valuable lesson; if you want something done right, go to the right person for answers.

Before coming to Lee in her present rolls she worked full time in her bakery business of 28 years, which allowed her to be involved in the community through the Lee Youth Association, Lee High cheerleading coach, and adult evening teacher.

As you can clearly see, Andrea Wadsworth is a valuable resource for the town, its citizens and all community members. She brings sound reasoning, dedication, knowledge, and experience to the position and I for one, will be very glad for the town when she is elected.
